               2013-14 Crosby nearly played a full season in 2013-14, playing 80 games. It was the most he had played in a single season since 2009-10 when he played 81. He put up 36 goals and 68 assists for 104 points, eclipsing the 100-point mark for the 5th time in 9 seasons. He led the league in assists, as well as points, which ultimately led to winning the Art Ross Trophy for the 2nd time, and the first since 2006-07. He got the honors of league MVP, taking home the Hart Trophy . It was his 2nd time being named the Most Valuable Player, and his 3rd time being nominated for the award. To top it all off, he was named the winner of the Ted Lindsay Award as well.  This was just one of many elite seasons that Crosby has put up, and it brought Pittsburgh back to the postseason where they lost to the New York Rangers in the Second Round.   Sidney Crosby Sidney Crosby is a forward for the Pittsburgh Penguins and is in his 19th NHL season. Crosby can be described in many different words. Exceptional. Talented. Resilient. Generational. Champion. He has been one of the main faces of the league since entering in 2005-06 and hasn't slowed down even at the age of 36. Crosby has totaled a number of awards throughout his legendary career and is actively climbing the ranks of the NHL's all-time points list, sitting in 12th. NHL in the Olympics It is official. The National Hockey League is allowing current players to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, Italy. Commissioner Gary Bettman announced just a few days ago that the Olympics were a "go" in both 2026 and 2030. The NHL hasn't allowed players to compete in the Olympics since 2014. In 2018, it was the first year they wouldn't send players to compete for the sake of scheduling regular season games, as well as no pause for a few weeks in February. In 2022, it was mainly COVID that made them opt out for a second straight time. There was a pause in the NHL regular season because of the disease, so keeping players in North America was probably for the better.  In 2014, the two teams that competed for the Gold Medal were Canada and Sweden. Canada ended up winning by a score of 3-0, with goals coming from Jonathan Toews (Chicago Blackhawks), Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins), and Chris Kunitz (Pittsburgh Penguins).

NCAA Division I Hockey College hockey can be some of the more exciting hockey on display around the country. Every year loads of talent come in and take control of the league by storm. Prospects from all over the world use college hockey to expose themselves to professional hockey in North America, with hopes of making it to the National Hockey League.
